I'm distracted.

Though it is easy to get distracted, I just want to pause and remind myself that this is the season to remember Jesus' passion for us.

There is often a lot of drama in my life. Maybe you have a boring life, but I think there is a lot of drama in everybodies lives, so I'm going to make this blanket statement just as a reminder for me and for you.

Let's remember Jesus again. Remember why He came to earth, and remember how He came to earth. This very earth, walked the dirt not very far from where I am. Probably got the same dust in his eyes, and accidentally swallowed one or two of the same the little gnats that fly into my face and I eat. Saw the same sunsets and the same clouds. And put on an aching and paining human body every day so that He could identify with us. So that He could be the best possible sacrifice for us.

Let's dismiss the distractions for just one minute. Even if we can't get rid of them all day, let's give Him one minute right now to remember His sacrifice and his love for us.

How amazing.

Wow. I really like this post.

One of the things I love most about Jesus is that He understands our emotions. Maybe that's just because I'm a girl, but it means so much to me that He truly understands how I feel about things. While we can't be ruled by the way we "feel" about things, I do think He placed the ability to feel things inside of us. He certainly felt things during His time on this planet -- it's recorded throughout scripture, of course.

One of my favorite songs is "You Were There." It talks about all the things that God is as related to scripture --

"You were the victor and the King

You were the power in David's swing

You were the calm in Abraham"

and then, my favorite line --

"You are the God who understands."

I just love that line because it encompasses so many different things about Him simply by saying that He truly is the God who understands. When we talk about our best friends in life, we typically say "They just understand me" or "They just get what I'm saying / feeling." And yet there is no one -- literally, no one -- that could come close to understanding us better than Him.

I am sensing a trend. Ever have those moments when God is not just reminding you, but is intentionally focusing your heart and mind? I seem to be right in the middle of one of those.

This message just keeps coming up all around me. It is not just in church that I am being reminded of the Passion of our Savior. In my daily devotionals the last few days have pointed me in this direction and now your blog. I definitely sense God focusing and teaching me in this present season.

So while we are both being reminded during this Easter Season I thought I'd share with you some of the Scripture God has been fueling me with.
